Aspen Graphics provides Managers that organize Workspaces, Windows, and Formulas. Aspen Managers are alike in interface, but different in the types of files they organize.

In the past, Aspen Graphics stored Workspaces (a.k.a.  Pages), Windows, and Formulas in a single file. Workspaces and Windows were stored in a file called Pages. Formulas were stored in a file named Formulas.txt.

Now, however, Workspaces, Windows and Formulas are stored as individual files, and Managers afford you control over the organization of these files. Workspaces have the file extension .agp, windows .agw, and these files are binary (not readable with a text editor). Formulas are stored in readable .txt files. The Workspace Manager, Window Manager, and Formula Manager organize these file types, respectively.

The principal advantages of individual file storage are:

File Sharing

.agp, .agw, and .txt files can be located centrally on a LAN and shared by all Aspen workstations, or locally, in your workstation's working environment. All Aspen Managers are capable of accessing files stored locally and centrally. This capability provides you with the ability to view common files (centrally located files) while retaining the privacy of your personal view of the markets (locally stored files).
