Symbol Drag-and-Drop

This topic explains symbol drag-and-drop.

Any window type capable of displaying an instrument is equipped with symbol drag-and-drop. This excludes clock windows, news windows, and text windows.

Drag-and-drop from options charts is limited in windows designed to display a single instrument--time & sales windows, single-instrument quote layouts, and Market Profile. Only the first instrument is displayed.

To drag-and-drop a symbol, position the mouse pointer over the symbol you want to drag and hold down the left mouse key until the pointer changes into the drag-and-drop pointer:

Keep holding the left mouse key down and drag the drag-and-drop pointer over the target window. Once over the target window, release the left mouse key. This process moves the symbol from the source to the target.

Some helpful tips to keep in mind:

grab symbols from a label in chart or time & sales window.
grab symbols from a symbol or description field in a quote window.
drop a symbol into a quote window's symbol or description field.
drop a symbol anywhere in a chart or time & sales window.
