Console

To display the console window, choose Console from the Window menu.

The console window displays error messages. While the console window is useful for identifying errors as they occur, a better record of what has gone on is available in the aspenlog.txt file located in the Apex directory.

The presence of messages in the console is not necessarily an indication that something is wrong. That said, if you experience a problem, checking the messages in the console is a good first step toward identifying the cause. Noting any console messages that coincide with the problem makes it easier for Customer Support to help you.

Errors recorded in the console are often accompanied by cryptic descriptions, like "tick in the future" or "data block invalid in bar apply". Don't spend a lot of time trying to make sense of these descriptions. The important part of the error is its number.
