Aspen Graphics is equipped with real-time error correction that detects and removes incorrect prices. If a bad price makes it through its filters, Aspen Graphics lets you correct it.

 

You can correct bad ticks on any chart time base. That said, it's usually a whole lot easier to locate bad ticks in daily, 15-minute, or 1 minute charts. These time frames give you a clearer view of the data in the server's  DAYS.DAT, BARS15.DAT, and TICKS.DAT database files, respectively.

 

Once you have corrected a bad tick, it is automatically corrected on all other charts built from the same data file.

 

Bad spikes on historical charts are normally corrected automatically overnight. If not, you can also correct them manually. To correct a bad tick, you need to know the conventions used to enter prices, and the procedures for fixing bad ticks in tick, intraday, and daily charts.
